Noah Green, a 20-year-old resident of Shirley, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempted murder and related charges following a shooting incident that occurred in front of former U.S. Congressman Lee Zeldin's home in October 2022. The sentence includes five years of post-release supervision.

Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the sentencing, emphasizing the severity of the crime. "This was a horrific act of gang-related violence that put innocent lives at risk," said Tierney. He noted the danger posed by Green's actions, which included firing shots towards a residential area with children present inside the home.

The investigation revealed that on October 9, 2022, Green left his residence with another person in a stolen Honda CRV. They encountered three rival gang members outside Congressman Zeldin's home, where Green fired multiple shots from the vehicle, hitting two individuals in the chest. Both victims survived their injuries.

Following the shooting, Green allegedly boasted about his actions on social media and used electronic communications to communicate with fellow gang members. His social media activity often displayed his gang affiliation and included images of weapons and stolen vehicles.

Green was apprehended on October 31, 2022, after law enforcement observed him leaving his residence in Shirley. During an attempt to evade capture, he damaged a law enforcement vehicle and was found with a loaded Taurus 9mm pistol—the same weapon used in the earlier shooting.

On September 12, 2024, Green pleaded guilty to multiple charges before Acting Supreme Court Justice Anthony S. Senft Jr., including three counts of attempted murder in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.

Assistant District Attorneys Martha Duffy and Donald Barclay prosecuted the case as part of an investigation into gang-related activities conducted by Suffolk County authorities.
