Three students from the William Floyd School District have been selected for the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA) All-County Jazz bands. These students will perform with peers from across Suffolk County later this month.

Jackson Seifert, a junior at William Floyd High School, has been named to the SCMEA All-County Jazz Band for the fourth consecutive year. He is part of the Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Band, and Wind Ensemble under directors Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland. Seifert, a trombonist, first received this honor as an eighth grader at William Paca Middle School. He also earned the SCMEA Private Study Scholarship as a freshman and was recently accepted into the Julliard Pre-College Program.

Ryan Formato, an eighth-grade percussionist from William Floyd Middle School, was chosen for the SCMEA Middle School All-County Jazz Band. This marks his third consecutive year receiving All-County honors. Last year, he was awarded the SCMEA Private Study Scholarship.

Emilia Biancospino represents William Paca Middle School as an eighth-grade vocalist in the SCMEA Jazz selection. She is receiving All-County honors for her third consecutive year and participated in the SCMEA Day of Jazz last year.

The students' achievements are shared by their directors: Garry Helbock and Kim Hyland at WFHS; Dawn Conefry at WFMS; and Margaret Pizzarelli at William Paca.
