The Brookhaven Animal Shelter and Adoption Center has announced its 2024 "Howl-o-ween Doggie Costume Parade" scheduled for Saturday, October 27, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The event invites children to attend in costume, ready for "Trick or Treating" and taking photos with "costumed canines." Attendees can expect to see a Husky dressed as a Frog Princess, a "Bulldog Banana Split," and a Yorkie Pumpkin among the participants. These adoptable dogs are expected to be the highlight of the event.

The celebration is part of the "Barktoberfest," which offers free adoptions from October 27-31. The adoption package includes neuter or spay services, vaccinations, microchip installation, licensing, FIV/FELV testing, and flea and fecal treatments. Among the adoptable dogs are Gizmo, Jewel, and Lyra.

The Brookhaven Town Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is located at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven. It operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and on weekends from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. For further details about the shelter and its activities, interested individuals can call 631-451-6950 or visit the Town website.
