Congressman Nick LaLota, representing New York’s 1st district since 2023, recently shared his views and activities on social media. Born in Bay Shore, New York in 1978, LaLota currently resides in Amityville.

On February 20, 2025, Congressman LaLota addressed border security concerns. He highlighted recent actions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Defense, stating "Last week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection seized over $1.3 million in cocaine at the Hidalgo and Anzalduas bridges, and the Department of Defense deployed 1,500 active-duty troops to support border security. These actions highlight the urgent need for stronger border…"

The following day on February 21, 2025, LaLota expressed enthusiasm for a trivia question related to his work as Co-Chair of the House’s Long Island Sound Caucus featured on a popular television show. He stated "As Co-Chair of the House’s Long Island Sound Caucus, I highly endorse this question on Jeopardy tonight! ⁦@RepJoeCourtney⁩"

Later that day on February 21, he voiced disappointment regarding protest leaders who declined his invitation for dialogue. In his post he noted "I'm disappointed that leaders from Monday’s protests declined my invitation to have a respectful face-to-face discussion in my office today. Their hateful signs, including references to Nazis and explicit imagery, only deepen division. I'm committed to meaningful dialogue…"
