Stony Brook University recently held an event titled "Unstoppable Momentum" to celebrate its global impact. The gathering took place on October 25 at the Charles B. Wang Center and featured discussions from campus thought leaders about the university's contributions to a better future for students, the community, and the planet.

Richard McCormick, Stony Brook University's Interim President, praised the institution during the event: "Stony Brook exemplifies all the best characteristics of American higher education. We have a growing and diverse student body. We have a robust research enterprise that has made Stony Brook a leader in promoting health aging, addressing the global challenge of climate change, and many more areas of knowledge upon which the future of humankind depends. And, not least, we advance the economic prosperity of Long Island, New York, and the nation."

The event included TED-style talks that highlighted how members of the university community are generating innovative ideas and solutions while inspiring others. Afterward, attendees had opportunities to engage with deans from various schools and colleges at Stony Brook to learn more about their work.
