Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio is supporting the "We Huddle For Hunger" Youth Flag Football Tournament, a community event aimed at addressing hunger in Riverhead. Sponsored by the Riverhead Rotary and News 12, the tournament will involve local youth, families, and organizations to support food pantries in the area.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 9th, at Stotzky Park Fields 1 & 2. Registration for teams starts at 10 a.m., with games running from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“I am so excited to see our community come together for such a worthy cause,” says Giglio. “Events like ‘We Huddle For Hunger’ showcase the power of local organizations and residents working together to support those in need. I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the games and contribute to this cause.”

Organized in partnership with Mark “MK” McLaughlin, the Riverhead Anti-Bias Task Force, the Riverhead Police Athletic League, and the Riverhead Recreation Department, teams are asked to donate canned goods as an entry fee. These donations will go directly to local food pantries to help ensure no family in Riverhead goes hungry this season. For more information about the event, contact Mark “MK” McLaughlin at abtf@townofriverheadny.gov.
