William Floyd High School is set to administer the New York State Regents examinations from January 21 to January 24, 2025. During this period, a special testing and transportation schedule will be in effect. Students are required to attend only their scheduled exams on these dates.
To ensure optimal test-taking conditions, students will undergo searches upon entering the building and should bring only necessary materials. Backpacks and pocketbooks will be confiscated. The New York State Education Department prohibits cell phones or electronic devices inside the building; any such items found will be confiscated, with parents needing to retrieve them from the main office between 8 am and 3:30 pm.
The use of communication devices during exams is strictly forbidden, leading to invalidation of the student's exam if violated. There are no make-up sessions for these exams; students must attend at designated times. Each exam session lasts three hours.
Cold grab-and-go food options will be available before exams in both lobbies of the school. Bus riders should arrive at their stops at regular morning times or by 11:15 am for afternoon sessions.
Passing multiple Regents examinations is a requirement for receiving a high school diploma in New York State. Attendance at these exams is essential for graduation eligibility. For questions about state-mandated testing requirements, parents and guardians are advised to contact their child's guidance counselor.
Concerns about this information can be addressed by calling the high school office at 874-1177 or reaching out to guidance counselors at 874-1130.
