William Paca Middle School is set to present 'The Wizard of Oz' Youth Edition, an adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic tale. The production will be staged for three performances starting on Friday, January 24 at 6 pm, followed by two shows on Saturday, January 25 at 11 am and 4 pm. Tickets are priced at $10 each.

The stage adaptation draws inspiration from MGM's renowned 1939 film, known for its iconic songs by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg and the instrumental compositions of Herbert Stothart. This version aims to bring the Land of Oz to life with a theatrical experience that includes characters and celebrated songs from the movie.

Audiences will follow Dorothy and her dog Toto as they "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" in their quest to reach the Emerald City and meet the Wizard of Oz who can help them return home. Along their journey, Dorothy meets witches, Munchkins, talking trees, winged monkeys, and befriends a Scarecrow without a brain, a Tin Man lacking a heart, and a Lion without courage. Their adventure underscores themes of friendship, understanding, and hope amidst both beauty and adversity.
