Rep. Nick LaLota of Suffolk County has introduced three legislative measures aimed at addressing issues affecting Long Island. The bills include the bipartisan Long Island Sound Restoration and Stewardship Reauthorization Act, the Mobile Post Office Relief Act, and a resolution opposing New York City's Central Business District Tolling Program.

LaLota emphasized the importance of these initiatives, stating, "Long Island deserves strong support from Washington, and I am proud to have introduced three critical bills to address pressing issues affecting our communities." He further explained that his focus remains on advancing solutions that enhance Long Island's future and quality of life.

The Long Island Sound Restoration and Stewardship Reauthorization Act aims to preserve the coastline by reauthorizing restoration programs through 2029. This initiative builds on previous efforts in partnership with Rep. Joe Courtney of Connecticut. Last year, LaLota secured $40 million in federal funding for this program.

The Mobile Post Office Relief Act addresses postal service disruptions in Sound Beach, where residents have been without local services for nine months. The act requires the United States Postal Service to provide mobile retail units when post offices are temporarily closed.

LaLota also expressed opposition to New York City's Central Business District Tolling Program through a resolution co-sponsored with other representatives. This resolution calls for an economic impact report on the tolling program and urges relevant authorities to halt its implementation.

These legislative efforts reflect LaLota's commitment to addressing local concerns while advocating for broader policy changes at the federal level.
