Farmingville, NY - On January 16, Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilman Michael Loguercio visited Martha Avenue Park/Tony Gazzola Park in Bellport to discuss recent upgrades completed by the Town of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department. These improvements include four new softball fields, fencing, a pergola, sun shelter, batting cages, and landscaping from 2022/2023. The latest enhancements for 2024/2025 feature a new ballfield with lighting systems, multi-purpose field, scoreboards, additional softball fields, batting cages, and further landscaping.
Supervisor Panico commented on the developments: “Martha Avenue Park/Tony Gazzola Park has been substantially upgraded and transformed into a beautiful park for the people of North Bellport, and those all of Brookhaven, to enjoy. Our efforts to raise the North Bellport are multifaceted and include these parks improvements, private investment, and revitalization efforts that will continue.”
Councilman Loguercio highlighted the park's features: “This park, like so many of our beautiful parks in Brookhaven Town, has many incredible amenities including new artificial turf fields, a gazebo, pergola high tech energy efficient lighting upgraded restrooms newly paved parking areas and new basketball courts. We’ve invested millions of dollars over the last few years to see these important improvements come to fruition. Thank you to our Parks Commissioner Ed Morris and the entire Parks Department for the wonderful job they do in upgrading and maintaining all the parks in our town.”
