The William Floyd High School Medical Club has continued its tradition of supporting the Child Life Program at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital with a donation of $500. This contribution is part of an ongoing effort by the club, which has donated over $4,600 in total to the program over the past eight years.

Led by science educator Terri Randall, the club's members presented their latest donation to Michael Attard, a certified child life specialist at Stony Brook Children's Hospital. During this meeting, Attard shared insights into the efforts made by the Child Life Department to assist young patients and their families.

"The Child Life Program supports children and their families by helping reduce the stress that pediatric patients and their families experience when faced with illness, medical procedures and unfamiliar surroundings," according to a statement about the program. It also provides activities tailored to meet children's emotional and developmental needs during hospital stays.

The William Floyd High School Medical Club includes members such as Dulce Galeano (secretary), Rachel Chen (president), Juliana Ruiz (treasurer), Vanessa Peralta (vice president), and advisor Ms. Terri Randall. The club's consistent support aims to bring comfort and positivity to hospitalized children through these donations.
