The William Floyd boys' varsity basketball team has secured their third consecutive League I title following a 72-64 victory against Brentwood. This achievement marks a historic moment for the Colonials, as no other period in the program's history has seen such success.
Dahmarion Moses played a key role in the win, achieving a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jawuan Smith also contributed significantly with his own double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Additional support came from Sharod Sutton, who scored 17 points, and Jermaine King, who added 15 points to the team's total.
With this victory, the Colonials have earned their place in the Class AAA playoffs. The team is focused on making a deep playoff run with hopes of returning to the Suffolk County Championship game.
Following their triumph over Brentwood, the Colonials achieved another victory by defeating Riverhead 66-51 on January 30. They are set to conclude their regular season with a home game against Central Islip on February 4, which will also serve as Senior Night.
"Congratulations to all of the student-athletes and their coaches for yet another great season and good luck in the playoffs!"
