A total of 124 student-musicians from William Floyd School District have been selected for the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) All-County honors. This marks a significant achievement as it surpasses the previous record of 91 students from last year.
The William Floyd School District's music program has had a successful year, with various accolades being awarded to its students. Earlier in the academic year, 28 juniors and seniors were chosen for the New York State Council of Administrators for Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County Music Festival. Additionally, 18 fourth graders were selected for the SCMEA PEAK Festival. Other recognitions include 14 students selected for Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) All-County honors, 12 students chosen for New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State honors, three students selected for SCMEA All-County Jazz honors, and two students chosen for All-Eastern Music Honors.
In total, over 200 student-musicians from William Floyd have been recognized and invited to participate in various ensembles. "Congratulations to the students, their teachers and the entire music department," expressed Dr. Amy Sckipp, Coordinator of Music at William Floyd.

At William Floyd High School, under directors Kimberly Hyland, Michelle Seifert, and Sarah Weber:
- Members were selected for SCMEA All-County Band including Mia Balcarcel on flute and Makayla Cortes on saxophone.
- SCMEA All-County Orchestra members included Emily Behrens on violin and Ryan Flores on viola.
- The SCMEA All-County Chorus featured Hajaratu Barrie as a soprano among others.
William Floyd Middle School instructors Dawn Conefry, Lauren Farrell, Amanda Gardner, and Debora-Ann Tomko also celebrated their student's achievements:
- Students like Valeria Andrianova on flute made it into the SCMEA All-County Band.
William Paca Middle School instructors Joseph Cordaro et al., saw:
- James Alese playing alto saxophone was part of their SCMEA All-County Band selections.
Other elementary schools within the district also participated:
John S. Hobart Elementary celebrated David Duran Lonis's inclusion in the band with his alto saxophone skills.
Moriches Elementary’s Colby Delboy was noted for his cello performance.
