Northwell Health has expanded its women's health practice in Smithtown, relocating to a new 6,900-square-foot facility at 222 Middle Country Road. The $2.2 million space now offers a range of services including obstetrics, gynecology, midwifery, and several specialized medical fields such as gynecologic oncology and breast surgery.
The Northwell Health Physician Partners Women’s Specialty Care, part of the Katz Institute for Women’s Health Smithtown, has integrated all OB/GYN physicians from the former Square Care Medical Group of Smithtown into its team. This move aims to provide comprehensive care options under one roof for women in Suffolk County.
Danielle O’Shaughnessy, MD, chair of obstetrics and gynecology at Huntington Hospital stated: “I’m excited to bring advanced health care closer to home for women in the region and beyond, whether it’s for routine screenings, prenatal care, or more specialized treatments. We are here to support women at every stage of their lives with compassionate care and expertise.”
The expanded site features 11 exam rooms staffed by 10 physicians along with nurse practitioners and physician assistants. It also offers lab testing, ultrasound imaging, diagnostic services, genetic testing as well as educational classes on lactation and nutrition.
Stacey E. Rosen, MD from the Katz Institute emphasized their commitment: “At the Katz Institute for Women’s Health, we are dedicated to improving the health of women across their lifespan.” She added that this expansion is crucial for providing personalized high-quality care.
Joseph Baglio from Northwell’s Eastern region ambulatory services highlighted the importance of this development: “At Northwell Health, we are committed to enhancing access to high-quality compassionate care for women in every community we serve.” He described it as an important step toward meeting women's evolving health needs across Long Island.
