On April 5, Councilwoman Jane Bonner, along with several other local officials, attended the Opening Day ceremonies for the North Shore Little League (NSLL) in Farmingville, New York. The league, which has been operating since 1963, provides boys and girls between the ages of six and sixteen an opportunity to engage in baseball and softball activities. These events take place at the fields located on Route 25A in Rocky Point.

Also in attendance were 2nd District State Assemblywoman Jodie Giglio and Quentin Palifka, who represented Suffolk County Legislator Chad Lennon. Councilwoman Bonner expressed her enthusiasm about the significance of the event. She stated, "The North Shore Little League is great for kids to have fun and enjoy spending hours playing America’s pastime. I always know that summer is just around the corner when I hear the words ‘play ball!’ on opening day."

For those seeking more information about the North Shore Little League, or looking to volunteer or join the e-mail list, additional details are available at their website, www.nsllrp.org, or by contacting them at 631-744-3355.
