The first project involved resurfacing Ackerly Lane, stretching from Portion Road in Ronkonkoma to Patchogue Holbrook Road in Holbrook. This project included inspections, drain installations, and the repair or replacement of damaged concrete curbing and aprons, with a total cost of $221,000.

    Farmingville, NY – On September 11, Supervisor Dan Panico led a memorial service to honor the nearly 3,000 people who perished as a result of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City; the Pentagon in Washington, DC; and at Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The ceremony, held at the 9/11 Memorial Garden at Brookhaven Town Hall, included the traditional ringing of the fire bell by Chief Fire Marshal Chris Mehrman in memory of the first responders who heroically gave their lives in the line of duty.

  • Community seeks help identifying vandals at Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park

    Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilman Neil Foley are seeking assistance from residents to identify three males, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, responsible for vandalizing the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Park at Lake Ronkonkoma. The incident occurred on the night of September 2, after 8:00 pm, involving graffiti on a building and spray painting a security camera. The suspects were seen driving a dark-colored sedan of unknown make and model.

    Farmingville, NY – Town Clerk Kevin LaValle has announced the launch of his “Talking History with the Town Clerk” video series with a tour of the Davis Meeting House in Coram, the former clerk's office from the early days of the Town of Brookhaven. The video also includes comments from Town Historian Barbara Russell, who provides insight about the historic town landmark; Researcher Lynne Scofield and Interim President Suzanne Johnson from the Town of Brookhaven Davis Town Meeting House Historical Society.

  • Brookhaven to host annual Country Fair at historic Longwood Estate

    The Town of Brookhaven will host its annual Country Fair on September 21 and 22, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the historic Longwood Estate in Ridge. The event will feature historical re-enactments, demonstrations, food, entertainment by the Ed Travers Band, craft vendors, children's activities, a Tesla Museum exhibit, a dog show, a vintage apron show, and house museum tours.
