Brookhaven Town will host a workshop titled "Getting the Most from Your Library" on April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town Hall. This event is an initiative by the Town's Division of Women’s Services.

Sachem Public Library Director Neely McCahey, along with her colleagues, will lead the session. The workshop aims to inform residents about the extensive offerings of local libraries beyond book lending. Libraries in the Town of Brookhaven also serve as community centers, providing a variety of resources. These include physical and digital collections, computer and internet access, educational programs for all ages, job search assistance, and language learning tools. Additionally, libraries host cultural events and community gatherings and offer outdoor spaces for public use.

This effort is designed to foster lifelong learning, encourage participation, and facilitate the sharing of information and community interaction. Residents seeking more information can contact the Town of Brookhaven Division of Women’s Services at 631-451-6146.
