Allyson Silver, who serves as the assistant vice president of operations for surgical services at Stony Brook Medicine, has been recognized on Becker’s Hospital Review’s annual list of notable perioperative service leaders for 2025. This list features 28 professionals from hospitals and health systems nationwide, credited with improving operating room productivity and enhancing teamwork among surgical staff, while addressing workforce challenges. Notably, Silver is the sole representative from Long Island on the list.

Carol A. Gomes, the Chief Executive Officer of Stony Brook University Hospital, expressed pride in Silver's achievement, stating, “We are proud Ally is being honored for her outstanding efforts leading the surgical services here at Stony Brook Medicine. Her patient focused approach to care has helped create long-lasting relationships and optimal surgical outcomes throughout our healthcare system.”

Stony Brook Medicine functions as the health-related arm of Stony Brook University, encompassing education, research, and patient care. It unites five Health Sciences schools: the Renaissance School of Medicine, School of Dental Medicine, School of Health Professions, School of Nursing, and School of Social Welfare. It is also associated with several hospitals including Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital, and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, alongside over 200 community healthcare facilities in Suffolk County.
