Brookhaven honors recipients at 39th annual women's recognition night

Supervisor Daniel J. Panico and the Brookhaven Town Board recently recognized the recipients of the 2025 Women's Recognition Awards. The awards were presented during the 39th Annual Women's Recognition Night, held on March 20 at Brookhaven Town Hall. This event was organized by the Town's Office of Women's Services, Department of General Services.

The award winners, nominated by community members, either reside or work in Brookhaven and have shown excellence in various fields. The selection process involved reviewing resumes and letters of recommendation by members of Brookhaven's Women's Advisory Board.

The honorees for the 2025 Women’s Recognition Award include:

- Business: Mary Beth Lichtneger from Center Moriches

- Communications: Lily Stolzberg from Miller Place

- Community Services Professional: Jennifer Hernandez from Mount Sinai

- Community Service Volunteer: Debra L. Engelhardt from Wading River

- Education: Leah Topek-Walker from Patchogue

- Government: Leslie A. Mitchel from Port Jefferson

- Health Care Provider: Christina Burke, PT, DPT, NCS from Great River/Stony Brook Medicine

- Law Enforcement: Megan O’Donnell from Calverton/District Attorney’s Office

- Legal Profession: Stephanie A. Buffa, Esq. from East Setauket

- Medicine: Dr. Rachel Davis from Roslyn/Stony Brook Medicine

- Science: Dr. Gabriella Carini from Port Jefferson

Additionally, special commendation awards were given to individuals recognized by members of the Town Board:

- Annette Eaderesto, Esq., honored by Supervisor Daniel J. Panico (Brookhaven)

- Dr. Jennifer Quinn, honored by Councilman Jonathan Kornreich (East Setauket)

- Bea Ruberto, honored by Councilwoman Jane Bonner (Sound Beach)

- Linda Miller, honored by Councilman Neil A. Manzella (Selden)

- Isabella Rossellini, honored by Councilman Michael A. Loguercio (Brookhaven)

- Mary Bailey, honored by Councilman Neil Foley (Blue Point)

- Maura Spery, honored by Councilwoman Karen Dunne Kesnig (Mastic)
