On April 4, Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Deputy Supervisor/Councilman Neil Foley expressed their gratitude towards the efforts of the St. Joseph's University “Golden Eagles” baseball team. The officials visited Corey Beach in Blue Point to thank the team for their beach clean-up initiative.

Armed with rubber gloves, trash pickers, and garbage pails, the 40 team members participated in the cleanup. They worked together to remove litter from the entire beach, ensuring it was clean and free of trash.

St. Joseph’s University “Golden Eagles” baseball team has been a participant in the Division III level of the National College Athletic Association (NCAA). The team has competed in the Skyline Conference since the 1999-2000 academic year.

Brookhaven Town encourages the community to participate in making a difference. Residents are urged to register for the townwide Great Brookhaven Cleanup scheduled for May 17 by visiting Brookhavenny.gov.
