Supervisor Dan Panico and Councilmember Jonathan Kornreich participated in a series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies in Stony Brook Village. The events celebrated the inauguration of three businesses on Main Street: North Shore Injury Lawyer Mark T. Freeley, Esq., Little Cheese, and Georgio’s Coffee Roasters.
The ceremonies were attended by several officials, including Head of the Harbor Mayor Michael Utevsky, Suffolk County Legislator Steven Englebright, New York State Assemblywoman Rebecca Kassay, and representatives from the Ward Melville Heritage Organization and Stony Brook Village Center.
The new businesses each provide unique offerings. Mark T. Freeley, Esq. has opened his law office at 111 Main Street. Known for his over 30 years as a personal injury lawyer in Long Island, Freeley is also recognized for his volunteer work with Last Chance Animal Rescue.
Little Cheese, at 127 Main Street, focuses on artisanal cheeses and sustainably sourced products. Their offerings include custom charcuterie boards and curated selections.
At 131 Main Street, Georgio’s Coffee Roasters provides small-batch, fresh-roasted specialty coffees. Their beans are sourced through sustainable and direct trade methods, reflecting their commitment to quality and ethical practices.
“These openings reflect a continued investment in the vitality of Main Street,” Supervisor Panico remarked, highlighting the businesses' contributions to the downtown area's character.
Councilmember Kornreich commented, “Stony Brook Village continues to be a vibrant and interesting place to spend time. The addition of these new businesses is an exciting new chapter and provides even more reasons to make the Village an important community hub!”
