Congressman Nick LaLota recently shared several updates on his official Twitter account, covering topics ranging from national defense to Medicaid reforms and local issues in Suffolk County.

On March 6, 2025, Congressman LaLota welcomed his Naval Academy classmate Tim Rhatigan to Washington D.C. "Great to welcome my Naval Academy classmate Tim Rhatigan to D.C.! After a distinguished Navy career, he now serves at the Defense Innovation Unit, advancing tech for national defense."

The following day, March 7, 2025, LaLota addressed potential reforms to Medicaid. He suggested that the program's sustainability could be improved by "removing illegals from the rolls, requiring work for able-bodied adults, and eliminating waste, fraud & abuse." According to him, these changes would help secure Medicaid's future for upcoming generations of Americans.

Later that same day, he turned his attention towards local concerns in Long Island. Emphasizing security and economic growth while maintaining environmental integrity, LaLota stated his commitment to addressing regional issues: "Long Islanders deserve security, growth, and a clean environment. I’m working to cut taxes, stop wasteful spending, protect our waters, and support First Responders & businesses—keeping Suffolk County strong!"
