Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Daniel Losquadro announced a new website launch aimed at encouraging community feedback. The website is part of a project to develop a Townwide Vision Zero Action Plan focused on eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries on Town-owned roadways by 2045.

The initiative incorporates the Safe System Approach as endorsed by the Federal Highway Administration. The approach seeks improvements in several areas including safer roads, speeds, people, vehicles, and enhanced post-crash care.

The development of the action plan relies heavily on analyzing data such as crash records, speed trends, traffic volumes, infrastructure conditions, and demographics. These factors will help shape strategic planning, which aims to improve roadway safety through long-term goals and actionable steps.

Superintendent Losquadro emphasized the importance of community involvement. “I would like to encourage residents to visit the project website at www.BrookhavenVisionZero.com to engage via the interactive map and community questionnaire,” Losquadro said. “Please be encouraged to have a hand in ending fatalities and serious injuries on our roadways.”
