Suffolk County issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on October,10 2020 . Last updated October 9, 2020. 

913,848 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 7703 tests        

5.2 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19

1.1 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

0.9  percent of those tested in Suffolk County in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

Tested Positive for COVID-19

47,357 total cases

72 new cases

Antibody Testing

274,189 total were tested for antibodies

28,961 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Fatalities

0 fatalities

2,016 total fatalities

Hospitalization numbers from October 9, 2020

30 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 1 in 24 hours

5 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),  no change in 24 hours

5 new admissions

5 discharged

5,943 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

2994 hospital beds, 748 available, 25 percent

381 ICU beds 81 available, 21 percent
