Brookhaven Town officials have announced the completion of a paving project in Rocky Point, Farmingville, NY. The initiative, led by Highway Superintendent Daniel P. Losquadro and Councilwoman Jane Bonner, involved resurfacing six roads.

Before the paving began, crews carried out inspections and installed drains, new ADA-compliant ramps, and repaired or replaced damaged concrete curbing and aprons. This preliminary work cost approximately $180,000. The roads that underwent resurfacing include Arthur Avenue, Bunker Street, Fairway Drive, Greenway Drive, Janis Lane, and Mark Drive. The total expenditure for the entire project was about $391,000.

Superintendent Losquadro commented on the project's significance: “The roads in this paving project see a lot of through traffic from residents accessing the Stop and Shop and Planet Fitness shopping centers,” he said. “They had greatly deteriorated and were in need of resurfacing. I’m glad we were able to include them in our 2024 paving season.”

Councilwoman Bonner also emphasized the importance of the project for local residents: “This paving project is a significant improvement for our community, enhancing both safety and accessibility for Rocky Point residents,” she stated. “These roads are essential routes for our residents, and by investing in infrastructure like this, we’re committed to maintaining the safety and quality of life our community deserves."

Both officials expressed gratitude towards each other for their roles in advancing infrastructure projects throughout Brookhaven.
