Suffolk County issued the following announcement on Dec. 12.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on December 12, 2020. Last updated December 11, 2020

Data is from December 11

COVID-19 Testing:

  • 20,204 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 1,645,425 total tests have been administered since March
  • 1163 new cases were reported
  • 73,281 total cases have been reported since March
  • 4.5% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 5.2% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 5.6% positive on a 7-day average
  • 5.8% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 6.2% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing:

  • 31,646 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 tested positive for antibodies
  • 302,500 in total have tested positive for antibodies
Fatalities:

  • 7 fatalities
  • 2,108 total fatalities
COVID-19 Hospitalizations data from December 11, 2020

  • 435 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 54  were new admissions
  • 76 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 6 in 24 hours
  • 30 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 59 were discharged since the last report
  • 6,819 have been discharged since March 22
Hospital Capacity

  • 2,995 hospital beds, 660 available, 22 percent
  • 415 ICU beds, 112 available, 27 percent
