Suffolk County Police Department - Hiring Research Analyst

The Suffolk County Police Department is seeking to hire a provisional Research Analyst for its Criminal Intelligence Section. This person will work in the Crime Analysis Center and will provide data analysis, statistical reporting and investigative assistance. 

Starting salary is $51,835 and includes health, vision and dental insurance.

Minimum qualifications are either a Master’s Degree in Research, Management and Policy Analysis or a related field; or graduation from a New York State or regionally accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree, and two years of experience in the development and conduct of managerial and operational research studies. In the absence of a college degree, graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and six years of experience in the development and  conduct of managerial and operational research studies will be accepted.

Hours are Monday through Friday rotating between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight.

When a Civil Service examination is held for the title, the provisional employee must take the examination, pass it and be reachable for appointment from the resultant eligible list in order to be retained.
