Suffolk County Police Deputy Commissioners Anthony Carter and Risco Mention-Lewis and Chief of Department Robert Waring Attended the Annual Memorial Service

253

Suffolk County Police Deputy Commissioners Anthony Carter and Risco Mention-Lewis and Chief of Department Robert Waring attended the annual memorial service hosted by the First Precinct Brotherhood of the Fallen in West Babylon yesterday.

During the 24th annual service, six fallen members of the SCPD were recognized— Police Officer George Frees, Police Officer Frank Cataldo, Police Officer William DeRosa, Detective Carmine Macchia, Detective Stephen Mullen and Detective Sergeant John Kempf.  Each of the six spent a significant portion of their careers serving residents of the First Precinct.

This ceremony is not only a reminder of the dangers that come with a career in law enforcement but also serves as a day to remember our heroes who lost their lives protecting the public. The sacrifice these men have made will never be forgotten.
