WASHINGTON, D.C. - On May 4th, 2023, Rep. Nick LaLota (NY-01) released the following statement after returning from a bipartisan Congressional Delegation trip to Israel, led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy:
“America is Israel’s strongest ally Israel is America’s strongest ally. Our strategic partnership, centered around deterring conflicts with common adversaries, is vital to America’s national security. To reaffirm our partnership, I joined a bipartisan congressional delegation to Jerusalem,” said LaLota. “We met with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Herzog, and Speaker Ohana and discussed topics ranging from security assistance and intelligence sharing to the Abraham Accords and reforms in Israel’s judiciary. As a Military Veteran and member of the House Armed Services Committee, I understand and am fully committed to America’s strategic partnership with Israel.”
Background:
Last week, LaLota voted in favor of H.Res. 311, which would encourage the expansion and strengthening of the Abraham Accords to urge other nations to normalize relations with Israel and ensure that existing agreements reap tangible security and economic benefits.
