Assemblyman Joe DeStefano (R,C-Medford) and Councilman Michael A. Loguercio Jr. marked the grand opening and ribbon cutting of Pupusas City in Middle Island on Saturday, August 26. During the event, certificates were presented to the proud owner, Iris Viera Argueta. The celebration was also graced by the presence of representatives from the Peruvian American Chamber of Commerce, Salvadoran Consulate General Federico Guerrero, Hector Gavilla, Luis Guillen Pineda, and El Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce representative Elvin Fuentes.
Speaking at the event, Assemblyman DeStefano congratulated Iris on the achievement and highlighted the significance of Pupusas City's opening. He emphasized the positive impact the restaurant would have on the local economy, including job creation, cultural exchange, community cohesion, and sustainable development. Encouraging the community to visit the new establishment, DeStefano wished Pupusas City success in its endeavors.
