Throughout the Legislative Session this year, Assemblymember K. Brown emphasized efforts to enhance safety, education, and environmental standards in New York State. "I worked tirelessly to help make New York State safer, smarter and cleaner for all Long Islanders and New Yorkers," Brown stated.
Brown introduced several pieces of legislation aimed at addressing public safety concerns and the opioid crisis. One such bill (A.10193) focuses on expanding the availability of opioid reversal agents. Additionally, Brown prioritized educational reforms by proposing a reduction in cellphone usage during classroom instruction (A.9687) and sought to protect children from exploitative online features (A.8314) as well as addictive social media platforms (A.8148-A, A.8149-A).
Environmental initiatives were also a significant part of Brown's legislative agenda. She co-sponsored the Suffolk County Sewer Commission bill (A.8993) to improve water quality around Long Island and supported the Packaging Reduction and Recycling Infrastructure Act (A.5322) to enhance environmental protection.
"I will continue to speak up for communities, families, students and children on Long Island and beyond," Brown affirmed. "I look forward to continuing to serve the people of the 12th Assembly District—I love representing my hometown!"
