Rep. Nick LaLota (R-Suffolk County) has issued a statement ahead of former Governor Andrew Cuomo’s testimony at the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic.

"Today’s hearing is a crucial step in addressing the disgraceful actions of former Governor Cuomo and holding him accountable. His administration’s gross mismanagement of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic and the deliberate cover-up of death data has caused irreversible damage to families across New York,” said LaLota. “The reckless directive that forced nursing homes to admit COVID-positive patients led to the tragic and preventable loss of thousands of lives. New Yorkers deserve accountability and answers from those responsible, and this hearing is a critical step toward securing justice for the grieving families."
