Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro is organizing “Anthony’s Red Shoe Fund Run” on Sunday, October 13. The event aims to support its capital campaign to build a new $30 million house at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital.

Scheduled to open in 2026, the new facility will offer a safe and comfortable environment for families of hospitalized children. The 60,000 square foot center will provide no-cost housing, respite, meals, and hospitality services close to the hospital. This will be the first Ronald McDonald House in Suffolk County and the second on Long Island.

The event will begin with check-in and day-of-race registration at 9 am, followed by the race start at 10 am at the Student Activities Center at Stony Brook University. The registration fee includes a T-shirt and access to an after-event patio party featuring music, food trucks, and more. Prizes will be awarded in various age group categories and team categories.

Participants can register for the race online. For further information, interested parties can contact lisa.muratori@stonybrook.edu.
