Suffolk County Community College hosts 'Parklife' art exhibit at Brentwood campus

Suffolk County Community College has announced an upcoming art exhibition titled "Parklife," featuring works by artists James Bertucci, Claudia Kaatziza Cortinez, Kristen Jensen, and Benny Merris. The exhibition will be held from October 21 to November 19, 2024, at the Sagtikos Art Gallery on the Michael J. Grant Campus in Brentwood.

"Parklife" aims to transform the gallery into a park-inspired space that encourages aesthetic contemplation and exploration. The exhibition will include a variety of artworks across different media such as painting, photography, and ceramics.

An opening reception is scheduled for Monday, October 21, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., during which artist Benny Merris will discuss his creative process and featured works at 2:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be available, and all are welcome to attend.

The gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., with Saturday visits available by appointment only. Admission is free. For further information, interested parties can contact (631) 851-6380.
