Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the indictment of four individuals accused of operating a criminal enterprise promoting prostitution in Suffolk County. The accused include Frank Saggio, George Trimigliozzi, Steven Arey, and Dana Ciardullo.
District Attorney Tierney stated, “It is a sad day in law enforcement when a public servant is arrested. However, I made a commitment to this County that no one is above the law, and that includes those who are supposed to embody the best of public service.” He further noted that the indictment describes "a long-term pattern of organized criminal activity and a shocking betrayal of public trust."
The investigation revealed that between October 2019 and June 2024, Saggio allegedly led an operation profiting from prostitution at two Suffolk County locations. The alleged members include Trimigliozzi, an officer with 18 years at the Suffolk County Police Department; Arey, employed for 26 years by the Islip School District; and Ciardullo, Saggio’s girlfriend.
They are accused of promoting prostitution by hiring sex workers and collecting proceeds known as "house fees." Trimigliozzi and Arey allegedly managed operations at American Girls Spa on Sunrise Highway in Holbrook. Other locations involved were Spa "Suite 4" and Reiki for Healing "Suite 5," both allegedly managed by Saggio. Ciardullo was said to manage Tunnel of Love in West Babylon.
An incident on March 19, 2021, involved an alleged robbery at American Girls Spa where Trimigliozzi reportedly responded without police department permission while on duty. He is also accused of falsifying records about his involvement with Saggio's enterprise.
Saggio faces charges including Enterprise Corruption and Sex Trafficking with bail set at $250,000 cash or higher bond options. If convicted on top charges, he could face up to 25 years in prison.
Trimigliozzi faces similar corruption charges along with allegations of falsifying business records and official misconduct. His bail conditions mirror those set for Arey and Ciardullo.
Arey’s charges focus on corruption related to promoting prostitution while Ciardullo faces counts linked to managing operations under Saggio’s alleged direction.
The case prosecution involves Deputy Bureau Chief Laura de Oliveira and Bureau Chief Kevin Ward from the Public Corruption Bureau following an investigation by their squad.
