Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney has announced the indictment of Philomena Mistretta, a 51-year-old resident of Coram. Mistretta faces charges including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree. The charges stem from an incident where she allegedly struck a 63-year-old woman with a minivan after a verbal and physical altercation in a public parking lot in Bellport.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about violence following disputes in public spaces. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation and subsequent actions.

District Attorney Tierney's office is expected to pursue these charges vigorously as part of its commitment to addressing violent crimes within Suffolk County.
