The William Floyd Colonials varsity football team secured a decisive 43-22 victory over Sachem East in the Suffolk County Division I quarterfinals. This win advances them to the semifinals, where they will face Sachem North on November 16 at 12 pm. The Colonials previously defeated Sachem North with a score of 48-28 on October 19.
Ja'Quan Thomas played a pivotal role in the game, rushing for 303 yards and scoring all six touchdowns for the Colonials, along with a two-point conversion. Quarterback A.J. Cannet contributed by completing nine out of ten passes for 75 yards. Jack Molini led in receiving with three catches totaling 36 yards, while Geo Alvarez caught four passes for 22 yards.
On defense, Zamari Wilkins made significant contributions with ten tackles, including four for a loss, and three sacks. Aaron Fisher also added seven tackles to the team's defensive efforts.
Tickets for the upcoming semifinal game are available for purchase online at $8.35 each, which includes a service fee. Children aged 12 and under can attend free of charge. QR codes will be provided at the gate for ticket purchases as Section XI will not accept cash or checks.
