After discussions with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio has announced an acceleration in the timeline for a significant infrastructure project within the 2nd Assembly District. The repaving of NYS Route 25, initially set for 2027, will now commence in the summer of 2025. This stretch runs from NYS Route 25A to just east of Splish Splash Drive/Manor Road. Although it is a multi-location project, the start date will vary across different sections. Completion is expected by summer 2026.

Assemblywoman Giglio expressed her satisfaction with this development: “I am thrilled to report to my constituents and our emergency services personnel about the incredible work our NYSDOT team is doing by prioritizing this essential project. The repaving of Route 25 is not just about improving our roads; it’s about ensuring safer, more efficient transportation for our residents, emergency responders and local businesses."

She emphasized that accelerating such a large-scale project would result in "fewer delays, less wear on vehicles and a smoother, safer route for everyone who relies on it." Giglio also noted her appreciation for the urgency being given to this initiative and anticipates its completion ahead of schedule.
