Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School recently held its second annual "Woodhullgiving" event. This celebration aims to unite the school community while providing meals for those in need before Thanksgiving.
During the event, tables with canned and boxed food items were available for donation by the Woodhull school community. The Suffolk County Police Department contributed 30 full Thanksgiving meals to families at Woodhull, continuing their support from last year's inaugural event.
Attendees, including students and families, participated in various outdoor activities such as dancing, arts and crafts, cornhole, using a photobooth, playing on the playground, jumping in a bounce house, and engaging in a scavenger hunt.
Dr. Murillo expressed gratitude: “I am deeply grateful for the collective spirit of our school community – students, teachers, staff, families and members of the larger community,” adding that Nathaniel Woodhull is "an amazing place where everyone consistently comes together for others."
The event was organized by the Woodhull Student Council led by Diane Catania along with Kaitlin O’Keife and Jacquelynn Ciolino. Dr. Murillo and assistant principal Erica Peralta also played key roles. Thanks were extended to Bounce ‘N’ Fun Party Rentals for providing the photobooth and Awesome Bouncers & Party Rentals, LLC for supplying the bounce house.
