Stony Brook's interim president shares holiday greetings emphasizing unity

Stony Brook University Interim President Richard McCormick extended holiday greetings to the university community through an annual video message. The message, shared on December 16, emphasized the theme of unity within diversity at Stony Brook.

Interim President McCormick expressed his gratitude and optimism in his address. He stated, "There’s something very special about this time of year. The season brings us together with loved ones and friends. Time slows down for a brief, yet much needed pause." He continued by reflecting on the importance of gratitude and looking forward with purpose.

McCormick conveyed his appreciation for being part of the Stony Brook community, highlighting the deep care people have for the university and each other. "While we are all different, rich traditions unite our community and bring it together," he noted. He concluded with a warm wish: "From our family to yours, we wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season."

The message closed with a New Year greeting from the McCormick Family to the Seawolves community.
