Jonathan Dignam, a general music teacher at William Floyd Middle School, has created a resource to help families enjoy holiday decorations. Known as the LI Lights Map, this initiative provides information on festively decorated homes across Nassau and Suffolk counties. Dignam describes this project as his "winter hobby."

The LI Lights Map is accessible via an easy-to-use website that includes a map of over 570 decorated homes, spreadsheets, a submission form for updates, and scavenger hunts. It also covers areas in New York City. The map features various decorations such as light shows, mega trees, animatronics, blow-ups, and classic blow molds.

Dignam's website is updated multiple times daily to ensure accuracy. Users can click on icons within the map to access additional details and pictures of each location. If visitors discover new decorated sites not yet listed on the map, they are encouraged to submit these locations for inclusion.
