On February 8th at 20:34, the Smithtown Fire Department responded to a reported commercial structure fire near Lawrence Rd and Old Northport Rd in Kings Park. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a large pile of debris ablaze inside a warehouse, with flames spreading to the roof. The situation was escalated to a working commercial structure fire, prompting mutual aid calls to neighboring departments including Commack, Kings Park, St James, Hauppauge, and Nesconset.

Several units from these departments collaborated to combat the fire using hand lines and master streams. Eventually, excavators were deployed to dismantle the debris pile and ensure complete extinguishment of the fire. The operation lasted approximately seven hours under the command of First Assistant Chief Diecidue.

Photos from the scene were provided by Joe Sperber and Ken Bradbury.
