This week, Senator Mario Mattera joined Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt and other colleagues to present the Liberate New York legislative agenda for 2025. The plan aims to address issues attributed to Albany's policies, which they claim have led to increased costs, reduced safety, and a loss of freedoms for residents.

The agenda focuses on providing solutions that aim to make New York safer, more affordable, and full of opportunities. Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt commented, “The Democrat establishment has prioritized their political agenda over hardworking New Yorkers, leading to high crime, skyrocketing taxes, and a mass exodus of residents. It’s time for common sense to return to Albany.”

The Liberate New York plan outlines five key areas:

1. Provide Affordability and Economic Opportunity: This includes tax cuts for residents and small businesses, making housing more affordable, and reducing regulations on farmers.

2. Create a Safer, Healthier New York: Plans include reversing criminal justice policies like cashless bail, combating hate crimes, and addressing mental health and substance abuse issues.

3. End the Migrant Crisis: The agenda opposes financial burdens from sanctuary state policies and aims to focus taxpayer dollars on residents instead of illegal migrants.

4. Protect Students and Defend Parental Rights: The plan seeks to empower parents in education decisions, protect girls' sports, and expand mental health services in schools.

5. Call for Government Accountability: Proposals include enacting term limits, pushing for voter ID laws, and investigating spending practices such as congestion pricing schemes.

Senator Mattera emphasized during the press conference that “New Yorkers deserve leadership that prioritizes their needs, not political games.” He described the plan as a roadmap intended to restore hope and opportunity throughout the state.

Further details about the "Liberate New York" 2025 legislative agenda are expected in the coming weeks.
