On January 24, 2025, Congressman LaLota expressed his support for the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, emphasizing the importance of providing care to every newborn. He stated: "Amidst our nation’s differences on abortion, one principle is clear: every newborn, no matter the circumstances of their birth, deserves care. I proudly support the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, ensuring all infants receive the medical attention they need."
Later that day, LaLota announced significant legislative achievements with four of his bills becoming law. He highlighted these accomplishments by saying: "FOUR of my bills are now law—delivering real results with real impact... Proud to get things done for Long Island and..." In another update on January 24th, Congressman LaLota addressed tax relief concerns for Long Island families by advocating for a raise in the SALT cap. He took this issue to the House floor to push for what he described as necessary economic equity and fairness. LaLota stated: "I took my case for a SALT cap raise to the House floor this week so my colleagues know Congress MUST deliver tax relief to hardworking Long Island families as a matter of fairness and economic equity."
