Rep. Nick LaLota of Suffolk County has been appointed to several subcommittees within the House Appropriations and Small Business Committees, expanding his influence on national and local issues. On the House Appropriations Committee, LaLota will serve as Vice Chairman of the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee, and as a member of both the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee and the Legislative Branch Subcommittee. Additionally, he continues his role as Chairman of the House Small Business Subcommittee on Contracting and Infrastructure and joins the Economic Growth, Tax, and Capital Access Subcommittee.
LaLota expressed his commitment to delivering results for Long Island, New York, and the nation through these roles. "Small businesses are the backbone of our economy," he stated. He emphasized his dedication to ensuring fair federal investment returns for New York taxpayers.
House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole praised LaLota's appointment, highlighting his accountability in federal spending. "His leadership will be a tremendous asset to Long Island and the country," Cole said.

The House Appropriations Committee oversees annual appropriations bills regulating U.S. government funding across various sectors including Treasury operations, military construction, veterans affairs, Capitol Police funding, among others. The Small Business Committee focuses on supporting small businesses through financial market evaluations and infrastructure modernization opportunities.
