Laura Mole, a distinguished figure in the field of music education and performance, has been honored as the Fine Arts Wall of Distinction Honoree for 2025. Her career spans decades of dedication to teaching and performing music.

Mole pursued her higher education at CUNY Queens College, where she majored in music and obtained both her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. Her professional journey included a significant tenure as an orchestra director at William Floyd High School from 1990 until her retirement in 2008. She also contributed to various educational districts such as Half Hollow Hills, Uniondale, East Meadow, North Shore, Plainedge, Baldwin, and Nassau County Community College.

Mole herself earned recognition as "NYSSMA All-State chairperson, SCMEA librarian," and served as a guest conductor for SCMEA and LISFA. She found joy in making music and inspiring future musicians.

In addition to teaching, Mole has been active in performing chamber music recitals and orchestras around the metropolitan area since completing her college education. As a member of both the Queens Symphony and Orchestra of Long Island, she has played in numerous outdoor venues while engaging with student programs. Currently, she is a violin professor at Long Island University Post campus and an adjunct professor at CUNY Queens College.

Her past performances include concerts at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tilles Center, NJPA in Newark, Vienna, Italy, and China with the New York Symphony. In freelance work, she is highly sought after as a concertmaster for choral groups. Her educational roles have included serving as an All-State chairperson, NYSSMA judge, conductor of the Gemini Youth Orchestra and Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. Additionally, Mole maintains a studio in Huntington.
