William Floyd NJROTC cadets succeed in regional competition

The William Floyd High School NJROTC cadets made a commendable performance at the 2025 Multi-Area NS-1 Combined Meet Championship & Drone Competition held at Colts Neck High School in New Jersey. The team, under the guidance of Senior Chief Andrew DiDonato and Chief Petty Officer Paul Bloess, competed against eight other regional schools and achieved notable results in individual and team events. The cadets secured four second-place and two third-place finishes.

In individual events, Cadet Valincia Rodriguez secured second place in the Knockout Drill, with Cadet Gabrielle Bardales finishing fourth. The Academic and Athletics Teams both ranked second overall, with the Athletics Team also earning a second-place finish in push-ups and third in sit-ups. Under the leadership of Cadet Madeline McLaughlin, the Color Guard Team achieved second place overall, while the Armed Drill Team, led by Cadet Arkady Castor, finished third.

The competition included various participants: Anjali Balram, Gabrielle Bardales, Deegan Bossen, Temarr Burwell, Arkady Castor, Madison Cupp, Gerard Gawlowski, Ryan Gerbino, London Lomax, Adrian Lopez, Madeline McLaughlin, Tristan Ng, Kalina-Sky Permenter, Luis Redondo, Valincia Rodriguez, Sanem Sancaktar, Christopher Schelhas, and Keniellia Taylor.
