WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Andrew R. Garbarino voted in favor of The Further Consolidated Appropriations Act, which provides funding for the remaining six of twelve appropriations bills for Fiscal Year 2024. Rep. Garbarino released a statement following his vote, emphasizing the importance of the bill in addressing national security concerns.
In his statement, Congressman Garbarino highlighted the significance of the legislation in enhancing national defense and border security while also reducing non-defense spending. He expressed satisfaction that the bill includes provisions for the largest increase in basic pay for troops in over two decades and investments in advanced military equipment.
Furthermore, Garbarino mentioned the allocation of funds to defense manufacturers in NY-02, supporting efforts against CCP aggression and counternarcotics, and securing increased resources for Border Patrol Agents and ICE detention beds. The congressman also noted his role in securing $150 million for breast cancer research and funding for various medical programs.
