New York State Senator Dean Murray has voiced strong criticism regarding the recent Senate confirmation process. The Senate took up the confirmation of 45 nominees for leadership positions in New York State government, opting to consolidate all nominations into a single vote.

Senator Murray expressed his discontent with this approach, stating, "The New York State Senate's nomination process is broken! Confirmation of 45 nominees for positions of leadership in New York State government was taken up by the Senate. We are supposed to vote on each nominee, but they put all the nominations together in one vote. This is not how the procedures of the Senate are supposed to work."

He further emphasized his stance by declaring, "To vote 'Yes' would have been a disservice to the people that elected me. My vote was a hard 'No'!"

The consolidation of multiple nominations into a single vote has raised concerns about procedural integrity and accountability within the legislative body.
