On October 17, several local officials gathered at the New York Cancer and Blood Center in Ronkonkoma to witness a significant contribution to the fight against breast cancer. The Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce President, Edward McNamara, presented a $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” event.

The funds were raised during the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce Celebrity Softball Game held on July 28, 2024. The event showcased community support and involvement in raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and support.

Brookhaven Town Clerk Kevin LaValle, Councilman Neil Foley, Councilman Neil Manzella, and Suffolk County Sheriff Errol J. Toulon were present to acknowledge this generous donation. The New York Cancer and Blood Center served as the venue for this presentation.

In attendance were members of the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the American Cancer Society, and breast cancer survivors. This gathering highlighted the community's commitment to supporting those affected by breast cancer.
